Villa privata a Forte dei Marmi | Lissoni & Partners

The first stage of the project dates back to 2011, with the realization of a villa characterized by a restrained architecture of glass and natural stone extending over two floors: monolithic forms free of all decoration.

The new villa, completed in 2025, is an extension of the existing house and adds another entrance. The project is carefully calibrated and realized through a process that is almost sartorial, based on precise lines and customized design.

A discreet glass corridor links the existing building to the new architecture, which extends over two floors around a central courtyard. The new brick façade towards the street is compact and solid, the only interruptions a bow window and, on the right, a timber framed doorway leading to the patio, preserving privacy from the exterior. 

The two villas are architecturally connected by a metal pergola that stands above the structure: a light and contemporary element that shelters and protects the terraces from the sun. The solids and voids that characterize the first villa are reinterpreted through the use of handcrafted bricks that completely sheathe the new volume, interrupted only by large windows framed by aluminum surrounds.

The walls of the entrance courtyard and the first-floor terrace are clad in handcrafted green ceramic tiles, the color of the sea and the maritime pines indigenous to the area. Vertical projecting louvers in wood have been designed to ensure utmost privacy for the terraces on the first floor. The choice of materials was also inspired by some of the modernist villas that can still be found in the region.

The central courtyards realized on the ground floor erase boundaries, allowing the functions of the spaces to merge, transforming interiors into exteriors and vice versa, and offering the possibility of unlimited open-air living.

The interiors are defined by a predominance of white and neutral colors, in contrast with the very dark woods, while a white and almost ethereal staircase links the two floors. On the ground floor the handcrafted white terracotta tiles set in a herringbone pattern dialogue with the door profiles in dark wood, whereas on the first floor this relationship is inverted, with dark resin-treated wood and white walls.

La prima parte del progetto risale al 2011, con la realizzazione di una villa caratterizzata da un’architettura essenziale in vetro e pietra naturale, sviluppata su due piani: monolitica nelle forme e priva di decorazioni.

La nuova villa, completata nel 2025, nasce come ampliamento della casa esistente, a cui si aggiunge anche un nuovo ingresso. Si tratta di un progetto rigoroso, realizzato attraverso un processo costruttivo quasi sartoriale, basato su allineamenti precisi e disegnati su misura. 

Un corridoio vetrato unisce con delicatezza l’edificio esistente alla nuova architettura, che si sviluppa su due piani attorno ad una corte centrale. La nuova facciata in mattoni, rivolta verso la strada, è compatta e piena, interrotta soltanto da un bow window e, sulla destra, da un portale in legno che conduce al patio, protetto così alla vista dall’esterno.

Le due ville sono collegate architettonicamente da un pergolato metallico che sovrasta la struttura: un elemento leggero e contemporaneo che ripara e protegge dal sole le terrazze. I pieni e i vuoti che caratterizzavano il progetto della prima villa vengono qui reinterpretati attraverso l’utilizzo di mattoni artigianali, che rivestono completamente la parte nuova, interrotti solo da grandi vetrate incorniciate da imbotti in alluminio. 

I muri della corte d’ingresso e della terrazza al primo piano sono rivestiti con mattonelle di ceramica artigianale blu e verdi: i colori del mare e dei pini marittimi che caratterizzano il paesaggio circostante. Per garantire maggiore privacy alle terrazze del primo piano sono stati disegnati frangisole verticali sporgenti in legno. L’ispirazione per la scelta dei materiali arriva anche da alcune ville moderniste ancora presenti nella regione. 

Attraverso la realizzazione delle corti centrali al piano terra, vengono eliminati i confini e le funzioni degli spazi si ibridano, trasformando gli interni in esterni e viceversa, offrendo agli ospiti la possibilità di vivere senza limitazioni gli spazi all’aperto.

Gli interni sono caratterizzati dalla predominanza di colori bianchi e neutri, in contrasto con legni molto scuri. Una scala eterea, bianca e leggera, unisce i due piani. Al piano terra i pavimenti in cotto artigianale bianco a spina di pesce dialogano in contrasto con i profili delle porte in legno scuro; al primo piano, invece, il rapporto si inverte, con pavimenti in legno resinato scuro e pareti bianche.
