Neos Eros

Neos Eros explores the relationship between contemporary architecture and the Cycladic landscape through a composition of simple volumes that respond directly to the site's topography and expansive sea views. Rather than presenting itself as a single monolithic structure, the house is organised as a sequence of interconnected buildings and outdoor spaces, creating a gradual transition between privacy and openness. The resulting layout encourages movement through courtyards, terraces and sheltered gathering spaces while maintaining a strong visual connection to the surrounding landscape.

The architecture draws on traditional local forms without resorting to imitation. White rendered walls, natural stone, timber elements and shaded pergolas create a restrained material palette that feels deeply rooted in its context. Openings are carefully positioned to frame the horizon, bringing changing light and the presence of the sea into the interior while reinforcing the dialogue between inside and outside.

Throughout the project, architecture and landscape remain in careful balance. Outdoor spaces are conceived as extensions of the living areas rather than separate destinations, allowing daily life to unfold across a series of interconnected environments. Neos Eros demonstrates how contemporary design can reinterpret regional architectural traditions through clarity of form, material authenticity and a strong sensitivity to place.
