Villa Caeruleum | Poesis Studio

Villa Caeruleum is a sanctuary of blue, suspended between earth and sea. Carved into the landscape of Porto Palermo, Albania, the villa unfolds towards the endless Ionian horizon, where the colours of walls, water and sky merge into a single experience. Inspired by the ancient Mediterranean relationship with the elements, the architecture becomes a quiet vessel for light, reflection and contemplation. Conceived as a single continuous gesture, the villa begins at the entrance and unfolds through a series of elliptical walls that shape both the interior and the landscape. This fluid movement carves intimate outdoor courtyards where light, shadow, and nature become integral to the architecture. The spaces between the walls filter daylight deep into the home while creating a delicate balance between openness and enclosure. As the gesture progresses, it frames a carefully choreographed sequence of views towards the Ionian Sea, the surrounding mountains, and the expansive Mediterranean sky. Each transition reveals a new dialogue with the landscape, transforming move- ment through the villa into an immersive spatial experience where architecture and nature are inseparable. Embedded within the terrain, Villa Caeruleum dissolves the boundary between built form and landscape, offering a timeless retreat in which space, light, and the ev- er-changing horizon are experienced as one continuous composition.
