The highly anticipated reopening of Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel has arrived as the property welcomes its first guests. Set in a prime position on the Riva degli Schiavoni, the Hotel offers stunning views of San Giorgio Maggiore from its rooftop terrace, while many of its rooms reveal the Lagoon in true theatrical fashion, with curtains parting like those of a grand theatre to unveil the view beyond.

Built in 1471 as the residence of the noble Dandolo family, Palazzo Dandolo is one of the city's finest examples of Venetian Gothic architecture. Alongside it, two other buildings, Palazzo Casa Nuova, once home to the Treasury of the Venetian Republic, and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, complete the hotel's architectural story. Both Palazzo Dandolo and Casa Nuova have been renovated by renowned interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, blending historic heritage with a contemporary vision.

The Hotel reopens with 120 rooms and suites, with total accommodations set to grow to 168 once the restoration of Palazzo Danieli Excelsior is complete in 2027.

A Dialogue Between Heritage and Contemporary Design

Pierre-Yves Rochon's vision interprets Venice's identity through a careful balance of history, light and materials.

The interiors feature a colour palette inspired by the Venetian Lagoon, including celadon greens, soft blues, terracotta, ochre and powder pink, echoing the city's marble façades, historic plasterwork and architecture. The first experience of this striking palette begins upon stepping into the lobby of Palazzo Dandolo, where the eye is immediately drawn to the ceiling with its fully restored, hand-painted gilding tracing a quatrefoil pattern against an azure blue that mirrors the lagoon outside. Throughout the majestic space the columns, stonework, and grand staircase have also been meticulously restored by skilled artisans.

Natural light is a defining element through Venetian mirrors and reflective surfaces that enhance depth and perspective, while Murano glass, terrazzo flooring and bespoke Rubelli textiles reinforce the connection with local craftsmanship.

A carefully curated artwork collection enriches the interiors, drawing inspiration from the spirit of the Grand Tour, when Venice became an essential destination for artists, writers and cultured travellers. Intaglios, Venetian engravings, antiqued mirrors and thoughtfully composed decorative objects reinterpret the city's artistic heritage, creating refined, residential spaces that evoke the elegance and grandeur of a historic palazzo.

Rooms and Suites

The restoration within the historic Palazzo Dandolo and Palazzo Casa Nuova redefines the hotel's accommodation offering with more spacious layouts and an expanded collection of Junior Suites and One-Bedroom Suites.

Rooms and suites overlook the Lagoon, the city's canals, or its rooftops, offering ever-changing perspectives of Venice. These enhanced accommodations combine timeless elegance with contemporary comfort, with suites offering generous living areas and flexible layouts, many of which can be expanded through connecting rooms.

Technology is discreetly integrated throughout the interiors to enhance comfort. The bespoke in-room media wall integrates the television into a curated composition of artwork and decorative objects. Automated curtains, customizable lighting scenes and an intuitive climate control system further personalize the guest experience.

Restaurant Terrazza Danieli

The transformation of Terrazza Danieli, the celebrated rooftop restaurant overlooking the Lagoon, offers iconic views with exceptional culinary offerings.

Respecting the restaurant's storied setting, the redesign subtly transforms its atmosphere without altering its architectural identity. Soft pastel hues, azure accents and muted golden tones replace the former dark finishes, while mirrored surfaces amplify natural light and reflect the picturesque views across the lagoon and the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The outdoor terrace echoes the warm terracotta tones of the historic façade, ensuring that the breathtaking panorama remains the true focal point of the experience.

Within this renewed setting, Executive Chef Adriano Rausa presents a contemporary interpretation of Italian cuisine with a Venetian twist, celebrating seasonal ingredients and long-standing relationships with local producers. Elevating the dining experience further, many signature dishes are finished tableside, adding a refined sense of theatre and creating memorable moments of interaction between guests and the service team.

Complementing the culinary offering, the bar celebrates the timeless ritual of the Italian aperitivo through a collection of classic cocktails reinterpreted with a contemporary touch, inviting guests to savour Venice from one of its most iconic terraces.

Danieli's transformation will continue in late 2026 with the opening of Danieli Spa, featuring three treatment rooms, including one dedicated to couples' experiences, as well as a sauna and hammam.

Situato in posizione privilegiata sulla Riva degli Schiavoni, l’hotel offre splendide viste su San Giorgio Maggiore dalla terrazza panoramica, mentre molte delle sue camere svelano la Laguna in modo teatrale, con tende che si aprono come un sipario di teatro per rivelare il panorama.

Costruito nel 1471 come residenza della nobile famiglia Dandolo, Palazzo Dandolo è uno dei più raffinati gioielli del gotico veneziano. Accanto a esso, altri due edifici, Palazzo Casa Nuova, un tempo sede del Tesoro della Repubblica di Venezia, e Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, completano il complesso architettonico dell’hotel. Gli interni presentano una palette di colori ispirata alla laguna veneziana, tra cui verdi celadon, azzurri soft, terracotta, ocra e rosa cipria, che richiamano le facciate di marmo, gli intonaci storici e l’architettura della città. La prima esperienza di questa palette inizia entrando nella hall di Palazzo Dandolo, dove lo sguardo è immediatamente attratto dal soffitto: dorature restaurate a mano che disegnano un motivo a quadrifoglio su uno sfondo azzurro che richiama l’acqua. Colonne, pietre e scalone sono tornati al loro splendore grazie al lavoro di artigiani locali.

La luce naturale è un elemento distintivo, grazie a specchi veneziani e superfici riflettenti che amplificano profondità e prospettiva, mentre il vetro di Murano, i pavimenti in terrazzo alla veneziana e i tessuti Rubelli su misura legano ogni spazio alla tradizione veneziana.

Una collezione di opere d'arte, ispirata allo spirito del Grand Tour, accompagna il percorso negli ambienti, evocando l'epoca in cui Venezia era tappa imprescindibile per artisti, scrittori e viaggiatori. Intagli, incisioni veneziane, specchi antichi e oggetti decorativi sapientemente composti reinterpretano il patrimonio artistico della città, creando spazi raffinati e residenziali che evocano l’eleganza e la grandiosità di uno storico palazzo.

Il restauro all’interno dello storico Palazzo Dandolo e di Palazzo Casa Nuova ridefinisce l’offerta dell’hotel con camere più spaziose e una collezione ampliata di Junior Suite e Suite One-Bedroom.

Nel rispetto dell’ambientazione storica del ristorante, il redesign trasforma l’atmosfera senza alterarne l’identità architettonica. Toni pastello, accenti azzurri e sfumature dorate hanno sostituito le precedenti finiture scure, mentre le superfici a specchio amplificano la luce naturale e riflettono i pittoreschi panorami sulla laguna e sull’isola di San Giorgio Maggiore. La terrazza esterna richiama i caldi toni terracotta della facciata storica e lo spettacolare panorama resta il vero punto focale dell’esperienza.

In questo rinnovato contesto, l’Executive Chef Adriano Rausa presenta un’interpretazione contemporanea della cucina italiana con un tocco veneziano, celebrando ingredienti di stagione e consolidati rapporti con i produttori locali. A elevare ulteriormente l’esperienza gastronomica, molti piatti signature vengono rifiniti al tavolo, aggiungendo un tocco di teatralità e creando momenti di interazione autentica con l’ospite.

La trasformazione di Danieli proseguirà nella seconda metà del 2026 con l’apertura di Danieli Spa, che disporrà di tre sale trattamenti, di cui una dedicata alle esperienze di coppia, oltre a sauna e hammam.
