The project consists of the complete refurbishment of the existing building, designed by the architect Xavier Busquets i Sindreu and built in the 70s, and its functional and energy improvement.

The intention of the new owners of the building is to preserve its use, but to change from a corporate character (single tenant) to a rental regime (multi-tenant). To this end, certain actions are proposed that have as main objectives the updating of the building’s technical performance, its adaptation to the new conditions of use, as well as a certain renovation of the building’s exterior and interior image, while recognising and enhancing the main values of the original building.

A very important element is the façade, which makes the building unique and is recognised for its special characteristics in the urban fabric of the Eixample. The proposal is based on the restoration and updating of the façade, improving its technical performance, as well as a respectful renovation of its image while maintaining the character and history of the building.

Another of the most characteristic features of the building are the ceramic murals, designed by the well-known ceramist Antoni Cumella, that decorate a large part of the interior walls. The project includes the restoration and, in specific parts, the careful redistribution of the murals within the new offices, as part of the history of the building.
