A Quiet Villa | Atelierzero
Private Residence Pavia / Italy / 2025
An historic villa in the Pavese region, long abandoned and in a state of decay, has been brought back to life through a restoration that carefully preserves its original beauty while introducing a contemporary approach.
The intervention focused first on the façades and the exteriors, and secondly on the internal layout, reimagining the spaces to highlight the building’s original proportions.
On the ground floor, two large, symmetrical halls were created, free from walls and partitions, to take full advantage of the height and breadth of the spaces, giving them an architectural scale worthy of the villa; on the upper floor, the two halls function almost independently: one serves as a private area for the parents, while the other is designed for the children.
The color palette is balanced and minimal: small-cut parquet and resin floors, large white wall surfaces, interspersed with rooms conceived as color boxes that mark the central nodes and focal points of the space, creating a harmonious dialogue between tradition and contemporary design.
