Lazy Lion | Studio Astet
Budapest / Hungary / 2026
Lazy Lion emerges as a wild, expressive and provocative counterpoint. Located within the imposing historic Adria Palace in Budapest, the cocktail bar is conceived as an irreverent proposal designed to make an impact, acting as an emotional and visual contrast to the building’s established character.
The bar area gradually and elegantly introduces guests to this universe. With a sophisticated French accent, the space incorporates suggestive motifs such as a ceiling mural featuring exotic flora and ornamental reliefs depicting animal figures. The lion occupies a central position, framed above the DJ booth. Materials enhance the expressiveness of the initial space: the character of stone and the nobility of wood combine naturally, accentuated by amber lighting.
These coexist with brown -toned upholstery featuring feline patterns, completing an untamed atmosphere. The corridor connecting the bar to the main room intensifies the experience. The walls are wrapped in bold extreme patterned fabric and feature three openings: two of them display animal figures, while the central one leads to the restroom. The central cha mber, crowned by a vaulted ceiling, reinforces this atmosphere. The main room is presented as a fantasy of reflections and textures, with a metallic palm -leaf ceiling and a continuous organic bench that evokes the sinuous forms of nature. The space takes interior design towards an immersive experience that transports v isitors into a more intense sensory register.
