OMA completes sculptural JOMOO Headquarters in Xiamen. OMA has completed the JOMOO Headquarters in Xiamen, marking the first office campus for China’s largest sanitaryware company.
Located on the edge of the city’s central business district, the new building is now in use and signals a significant moment in JOMOO’s transformation into a global brand.
Positioned between two contrasting conditions—dense urban high-rises on one side and forested hills on the other—the design embraces this duality through a continuous, sculptural form that merges base and tower. The result is a reinterpretation of the conventional podium-and-tower office typology.

“The completion of JOMOO’s new headquarters is the first in a series of high-rise projects our office has designed in China over the past decade,” said OMA Partner Chris van Duijn. “Located in rapidly growing cities like Hangzhou, Xiamen, and Shenzhen, these projects explore new connections to their immediate urban context, reinterpreting the prevailing tower typology that has shaped much of China’s recent urban expansion.”

The building’s façade is defined by white ceramic vertical stripes oriented in various directions. Inspired by local window tracery and JOMOO’s ceramic production, the façade system gives the structure a distinct identity within Xiamen’s evolving skyline. It also eliminates the need for interior columns, allowing for flexible and efficient floor plans throughout.
Public-facing functions—including a lobby, showroom, and a multipurpose hall with conference and recruitment spaces—are located in a multifaceted volume that draws from the nearby rocky terrain. Above, the office tower emerges seamlessly from the base, housing JOMOO’s corporate spaces.

Entrances are integrated within the folds of the façade’s irregular geometry, creating generous and clearly defined access points.
Referencing both traditional craftsmanship and high-tech manufacturing—two key aspects of JOMOO’s identity—the headquarters reflects cultural elements of Xiamen, past and present.
The project was led by OMA Partner Chris van Duijn, along with project architects Lingxiao Zhang and Chen Lu.
