Keiji Ashizawa Design

Keiji Ashizawa Design is an architectural and product design studio based in Tokyo, Japan. Formed in 2005 by Keiji Ashizawa, following ten years working experience in both architecture and steel fabrication, the office now comprises of eight staff members each bringing unique skills to the team. Through logical thinking and open-mindedness, the office presents works of ‘honest’ design – simple yet refined, thoughtful and of a light manner – derived naturally through the process of attempting to maximise the potential of each material and its function. The combination of materials and detail tell a story, with inherent richness in the subtly. The sharing of experiences is essential to broaden possibilities, exercised through collaboration on many levels: internally amongst staff members; creating relationships with clients to form an evolving dialogue of thought; and working with other creative professionals to grow, learn and expand the potential of each project.
