Michaelis Boyd is a design-led architectural practice with a uniquely creative approach that challenges and develops briefs to create elegant, effective and rewarding solutions. Established in 1995 by Alex Michaelis and Tim Boyd, the firm has earned a reputation for simple, elegant architecture with an emphasis on sustainable, environmentally sound solutions. Alex and Tim met while working at the same practice, having earned their stripes at some of the industry’s largest companies, including Richard Rogers & Partners, Colquhoun, Miller & Partners, and Wickham & Associates.
The Michaelis Boyd portfolio encompasses international projects ranging from restaurants and bars to private residential new builds and renovations. Recent commissions include Soho House Great Tew in Oxfordshire (for Soho House), Kichwa Tembo Game Reserve in Kenya, the Groucho Club in London, the MK2 cinema group in Paris, the Byron and Cabana restaurant chains, and restaurants for Michelin Star chef Tom Aikens.
