TO is a Mexico City-based architecture and design practice led by Jose G Amozurrutia and Carlos Facio, established in 2015.The practice currently has four designers: Úrsula Rebollar, Fernando Venado, Lizeth Ríos and Mara Aguilar.
Our work is grounded on dialogue, teamwork, the power of beauty inherent in simple things, on clear tectonic solutions based on light, acoustics, orientation, wind, weight and the quality of the materials. We focus as a building-based practice because, as designers, this draws closer to the intimate production processes of our profession.
Each project that we develop begins with the rigorous site-specific study, environmental, social and human requirements. We utilize this initial survey as an initial generator for ideas with the aim of producing a design solution of the highest quality, coherence and poetic yearning.
Among our recent works stand out the public space projects for PILARES program, for Mexico City´s government, and for SEDATU´S Urban Improvement Program in collaboration with Colectivo C733, with Estacion Tapachula (published in Domus Italy curated by Tadao Ando), Mercado Matamoros, published in different international magazines, Polideportivo Helios in Ciudad Acuña and Escuela de Musica in Nacajuca, Tabasco, among other ongoing projects in the states of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Puebla and Nayarit. Currently we also develop community projects for civil associations such as Kithara School of Music and Ocuilan´s Community Center, among other private residential projects.
