Xiang Architects

Xiang Architects is an architectural design studio founded in 2012. The studio’s practice spans urban design, architectural design, interior design, landscape design, exhibition space design, and art installation design. Based in Shanghai and founded by Principal Architect Xiang Nan, the studio focuses on spatial exploration related to culture, people's livelihoods, and public welfare. Regarding architecture as a container for complex functions, the studio’s work explores how to spontaneously address local issues and interpret local humanities through space, materials, and construction methods. The studio has received the DFA Design for Asia Awards and the WA Urban Contribution Award. In 2017, it was named among AD100 China’s 100 Most Influential Architects & Designers. Its projects have also been regularly featured in leading journals including Time + Architecture, World Architecture, Architectural Journal, Urban China and Urban Environment Design.
